This Sumatra Longberry microlot is from the Wahana Estate and as the name suggests it is long and thin shaped bean varietal. It is said to have originated in Ethiopia due to similarity to varietal called Longberry Harrar.
You can taste Ethiopian naturals in the cup ( the honey, boozy tones).
Wahana Estate is using half of its land to grow 13 different varietals of coffee, they are carefully separated into lots to produce distinct single varietal lots. Wahana Estate has its own tree nursery.
Large part of Wahana estate is protected and this conservation area includes many native plant and tree varierals.
The estate is an important local employer with between 800 and 1000 workers, whose families benefit from use of on site health clinic and accomodation.
